Sancal started out manufacturing classic, French-style chairs. Four decades on, we decided to revisit our origins and borrow from the past. The Swedish design Studio Note cleverly reinterpreted our Marie Antoinette-style vanity chair.After receiving an excellent reception, Note added a new member to the family: thus our petite Tonella presented the birth of its parents. Spanish wine barrels remain the inspiration for the larger sofa and armchair. The straight line quilting runs down the outside of the piece, like staves, contrasting with the smooth interior cushions. The Marie Antoinette-style seat, back and arms are made from flexible moulded polyurethane foam. The plain interior area can be upholstered in fabric or leather, the outer area is quilted to follow the barrel style lines of the base and is therefore only available in fabric.The metal base is available in a bronze finish and in all colours of our extra matte lacquer cart.
