IROCO Design – Supporting Art Basel Hong Kong for Over 12 Years

For the past twelve years, IROCO Design Hong Kong has served as the official furniture provider for Art Basel Hong Kong, one of the most prestigious art fairs in the world.

Held annually at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Art Basel Hong Kong brings together leading galleries, collectors, curators, and cultural institutions from across the globe. As the largest art trade fair in Hong Kong and one of the most influential events in the international art calendar, it attracts over 90,000 visitors each year and serves as a major meeting point for the global art community.

The 2026 edition of Art Basel Hong Kong once again welcomed an international audience of collectors, artists, and professionals from across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Over the course of the fair, the event hosted thousands of VIPs, presenting works from some of the most important contemporary artists and galleries in the world.

For IROCO Design, our role takes place largely behind the scenes but touches many of the key spaces within the fair. Each year, we furnish a wide range of environments throughout the venue, including the Collectors Lounge, catering areas, common areas, gallery spaces, and the auditorium.

Working closely with the event organizers, our team helps propose and curate furniture selections for each area, carefully considering the functional needs of the space, visitor flow, and the overall atmosphere of the fair.

Large cultural events like Art Basel rely on spaces that feel comfortable and welcoming while remaining visually neutral enough to let the art take center stage. Seating areas become places for collectors to pause and reflect, lounges provide settings for discussion and connection, and the auditorium hosts talks and panels throughout the fair. Thoughtfully selected furniture plays an important supporting role in shaping these experiences.

At the same time, sustainability has become an increasingly important part of how large cultural events are produced, and furniture rental plays a meaningful role in reducing waste within temporary exhibitions. By providing high-quality pieces designed to be reused across multiple events, IROCO Design for Rent supports a more circular approach to event production. Rather than creating temporary furnishings that are discarded after a single use, our rental collections are maintained and reintroduced into future projects, helping to reduce material consumption while maintaining high design standards.

Over the years, supporting Art Basel Hong Kong has become one of the most important annual projects for IROCO Design for Rent. Being entrusted with furnishing such a significant international fair reflects the reliability and experience our team has developed in working with complex exhibitions and large-scale cultural events.

For our team, this collaboration is more than just a project. Each year, it is an opportunity to contribute quietly but meaningfully to one of the most important gatherings in the global art world.
