Launched just 18 months ago in Hong Kong, IROCO has quickly established itself as Asia’s first designer furniture rental service, now operating not only in Hong Kong but also Shanghai, Tokyo, and Macau. IROCO was founded by husband-and-wife duo Alex Henrich and Sonia Jackson, who identified a gap in the Hong Kong market while furnishing their own home. Sonia Jackson, who embodies determination and adventure—having climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, run the London Marathon, and hiked the Maclehose Trail—has taken on the challenge of educating the Asian market about the power of design in corporate branding. Due to surging demand for their rental furniture, both luxury brands and customers are now requesting a sales offering. “It’s a real evolution from design-to-rent to design-for-sale,” Sonia told Localiiz. “Our pieces are highly sought after here, many being new to Asia. Meanwhile, these European brands lack representation in Asia, making this partnership ideal.”

Every year, Alex and Sonia personally select new pieces at Milan Design Week, refreshing their collection monthly with the latest European innovations. IROCO proudly offers Asia’s largest range of illuminated furniture from Milan-based designer SLIDE and holds exclusive rights to sell many of these brands in Hong Kong. “We focus on European furniture because of its superior quality, design, and endless variety,” Sonia explains. “Chinese manufacturers often copy popular designs, but these are usually a few years behind the latest trends. We go directly to the source to guarantee quality and the newest collections. Our goal is to champion high-quality design in Asia.”
